Denmark: ”Immunity in a cartel case granted for the first time”
An undertaking and a natural person in the cleaning industry has been granted immunity from sanctions in a cartel case for the disclosure of information regarding the cartel. It is the first time that the State Prosecutor for Serious Economic and International crime has granted immunity under the Danish leniency program.
The cartel in the cleaning industry involved two undertakings and concerned a tender offered by the Capital Region of Denmark.
The parties infringed section 6 of the Danish Competition Act by having had contact in the period up to the submission of their bids.
Due to exceptional personal circumstances, the State Prosecutor for Serious Economic and International Crime has decided to close the case overall.
