The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority works to free resources in the public sector through creation of competition in publicly-provided services.

The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority is engaged in producing market analyses and in advising relevant public authorities through the formulation of guidance notes on legal and practical matters.

Public procurement

The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority is also responsible for legislation regarding public procurement including the implementation of relevant European legislation. In this context, the Authority is taking part in the cooperation within the European Union.

The Public Procurement Division in the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority operates the Danish online portal for public procurement (udbud.dk). The division also organises the public-private network and is responsible for guidance on public-private partnerships. 

Furthermore the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority is involved in different activities within the European Union in relation to public procurement, e.g. the Public Procurement Network (PPN) and the Expert Group on Public Procurement.
