Competition and Consumer Authority launches new strategy

The new strategy "Strong professionalism - clear effect" will provide a framework and direction for the Competition and Consumer Authority’s work up to 2020.

The Competition and Consumer Authority will continue its mission to create well-functioning markets in Denmark and its vision to achieve growth and a high level of consumer welfare. Strategy 2020 has just been launched under the heading "Strong professionalism - clear effect."

The new strategy's overall strategic priorities are:

  • Efficient and modern authority
  • Strengthened policy development
  • High level of professionalism

These represent separate focus areas to ensure good interaction with the outside world and full exploitation of digital opportunities.

In the autumn of 2016, the Authority adjusted its organisation to create a better framework for working with the new strategy. Among other things, the Consumer Policy Centre was established along with a central mergers unit specialising in merger control and responsible for processing major merger cases.

The work around competition law was also strengthened to create a professionally strong competition law environment while streamlining workflows.

The new strategy builds on the previous strategy "Clear effect in the markets", which expired at the end of 2016.
